A visit form Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Japan

On Tuesday 18th February, 2019, the delegation from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Japan, leading by Prof.Masaki Nakagawa, a lecturer from Division of Advanced Information Technology and Computer Sciences paid a visit to KMUTT Bangmod Campus. Prof. Nakagawa and his team were welcomed by Ms. Sasima Juwasophi, Director of International Affairs Office and representatives from School of Information Technology and Faculty of Engineering.

TUAT and KMUTT have strongly collaboration pass through AIMS: ASEAN International Mobility for Students programme which is a semester exchange at an undergraduate level. With this visit, TUAT proposes to expand an academic collaboration under WISE Program (Doctoral Program for World-leading Innovative & Smart Education). WISE program is the “Program to Foster Brilliant Leaders with Emphasis on Diversity and the Creation of New Industries to Drive a Super Smart Society.” at a graduate level which is supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.


A visit from Coventry University (CU), United Kingdom

On Tuesday 20th February, 2019, Mr. Kevin Dunn, Regional Manager – South East Asia, Coventry University (CU), United Kingdom paid a visit to KMUTT Bangmod Campus. He was welcomed by Ms. Sasima Juwasophi, Director of International Affairs Office and her team.

This visit is the 1st time discussion to introduce and learn each other. The potential collaboration are a semester abroad program, a participation of CU in the annual job and education exhibition at KMUTT and a support from CU in KMUTT students’ activities such as International Senior Project Conference (ISPC) of KMUTT – Faculty of Engineering.

‘Human Research Ethics Training Workshop 3/2019’ on Wednesday, 20 March 2019, from 8.30 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. at the Sanan Sumitra Meeting Room, 9th Floor, Office of the President Building, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (Bangmod)

The Research, Innovation and Partnerships Office (RIPO) will organize ‘Human Research Ethics Training Workshop 3/2019’ on Wednesday, 20 March 2019, from 8.30 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. at the Sanan Sumitra Meeting Room, 9th Floor, Office of the President Building, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (Bangmod). The objective of this workshop is to train foreign staff and students of KMUTT about the importance of human research ethics, human research ethics assessment, and the role of the principal investigator in ethical conduct of research. The Participant must attend all lectures to receive a certificate of participation that is necessary for proposal submission to the Institutional Review Board (IRB)

On Wednesday 6th March, 2019, the delegation from the University of Kitakyushu (UKK), Japan, leading by Dr. Masato Ninomiya – Vice President paid a visit to KMUTT Bangmod Campus. Dr. Ninomiya and his team were welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornapit Darasawang – KMUTT Vice President for Internationalisation, Ms. Sasima Juwasophi – Director of International Affairs Office (IA) and IA representatives. Both parties discussed on previous activities and ways to improve education programs for possible collaborations that could happen in the future. The result of the meeting will bring about 2 main activities: English Short-Term Program at KMUTT and UKK Summer Short Program 2019 which will be held during June 23 and July 7, 2019.

Kanazawa University – First Step Program 2019 at KMUTT

A group of 20 Kanazawa students along with staff arrived to KMUTT for the ‘First Step Program’ to join a 2-week ‘Global Problem Based Learning’ (GPBL) course and learn about Thai Language and Culture. Students have been studying in-class with KMUTT students and enjoyed discussing and sharing ideas and culture together.

The purpose of the First Step program is to help students improve their English skills through Problem Based Learning to encourage students to think and use English more efficiently.

Activities: Learn about Europe and its environment and identity to understand of the most significant political and social issues in contemporary Europe under the theme “European Identity between Unity and Diversity: Problems and Challenges”
